Authentic Korean Food · Authentic Korean Seafood Pancake
Haemul Pajeon is one of the most beloved traditional Korean savory pancakes, enjoyed in Korean homes and taverns (jujeomsik) alike. Made with a wheat batter packed with green onions, squid, shrimp, and vegetables, pan-fried to a golden crisp in oil, it is a classic Korean savory pancake traditionally paired with Makgeolli (Korean rice wine) on rainy days — a long-standing part of Korean food culture. Simply pan-fry the 3 individually packed frozen pancakes straight from frozen, and bring the crispy, nutty taste of freshly made Korean Pajeon right to your table.

Haemul Pajeon is a traditional Korean savory pancake made by mixing green onions and seafood (squid, shrimp, etc.) into a wheat batter and pan-frying it until crispy in oil. "Haemul" means seafood, "Pa" means green onion, and "Jeon" means pan-fried pancake. The flavour is savoury and lightly salty, with a crispy exterior and a moist, tender interior. As a Western comparison, the texture is somewhat similar to an Italian frittata or a French crepe, but with the distinctive flavour of seafood and green onion that is uniquely Korean. It is traditionally served with a soy-vinegar dipping sauce and enjoyed as a starter, snack, or light meal.

[Storage] This is a frozen product. Store immediately in the freezer (below -18°C) upon receipt. Do not refreeze once thawed, and consume as soon as possible after opening. [Cooking] The best way to achieve a crispy result is pan-frying: heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat with a generous amount of cooking oil, place the pancake directly from frozen into the pan, and cook each side for 5–7 minutes until golden brown. An air fryer (180°C, 10–12 minutes) also produces a crispy texture. Microwave cooking is not recommended as it may make the pancake soggy.
Pajeon is a traditional Korean food with hundreds of years of history, and is particularly famous as a dish enjoyed on rainy days. In Korea, the sound of rain is said to resemble the sizzle of Pajeon cooking in a pan, which is why it is a natural tradition to enjoy Pajeon with Makgeolli (traditional Korean rice wine) whenever it rains. Compared to European food culture, Pajeon plays a role similar to Korean "tapas" or "finger food" — it is a social dish meant to be shared among people and enjoyed alongside drinks. It is also one of the most iconic Korean street foods, still freshly pan-fried and sold at traditional Korean markets today.
