Surasang Clear Water Corn Tea is a traditional Korean grain tea made from a single ingredient: roasted corn. It has a clear golden colour and, unlike coffee or black tea, contains no caffeine. The flavour is nutty with a natural, gentle sweetness — similar in style to European barley tea or corn silk tea, but with a richer roasted grain aroma. It can be enjoyed both hot and cold, making it a year-round drink.
Yes, Surasang Clear Water Corn Tea is 100% suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. The only ingredient is roasted corn, and it contains absolutely no animal-derived components. It is also Halal certified and Gluten-Free, making it a safe choice for people following a wide variety of dietary requirements.
The ingredient in Surasang Clear Water Corn Tea is roasted corn, which does not contain gluten. It has been confirmed as a Gluten-Free product. However, the possibility of cross-contamination with other allergens in the manufacturing facility has not been officially confirmed by the manufacturer. Those who are highly sensitive to cross-contamination are advised to contact the manufacturer (Surasang) directly before purchasing.
Preparation: Bring 1 litre of water to the boil, add approximately 10–15g of corn tea, and steep for 5–10 minutes. For a stronger flavour, steep for longer. Enjoy hot immediately, or allow to cool and refrigerate for a refreshing iced drink. Storage: Before opening, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After opening, seal tightly in an airtight container to keep out moisture and use as soon as possible. Brewed tea kept in the refrigerator is best consumed within 2–3 days.
In Korea, Oksusu-cha is one of the most popular everyday grain teas, often drunk in place of water. It is served in restaurants as a complimentary drink instead of water, and kept ready in the fridge at home — deeply embedded in the rhythm of daily Korean life. Compared to European drinking culture, it plays a similar role to French herbal tisanes or German barley tea: a relaxed, caffeine-free everyday beverage. It reflects a minimalist tea culture that celebrates the natural, wholesome flavour of a single ingredient with no additives.
