How Koreans Enjoy It · Recetas Coreanas

Discover the many ways Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon is enjoyed in Korean homes — experience it the authentic Korean way.

Classic Buldak
기본 치즈불닭볶음면
Boil the noodles in 600ml of water for 5 minutes, drain leaving about 8 tablespoons of water, then add the liquid sauce and cheese flakes and stir-fry briskly for 30 seconds until the sauce coats the noodles. This is the most classic preparation method in Korea.
Rabokki
라볶이 (라면 + 떡볶이)
Add Tteok (Korean rice cakes) and fish cake to the pot while cooking for a Korean street-food-style Rabokki — a combination of Ramyeon and Tteokbokki. As the rice cakes absorb the spicy cheese sauce, every bite becomes chewy, hearty and deeply satisfying.
Egg Topping
계란 토핑 불닭
Topping the finished noodles with a soft fried egg is one of the most beloved combinations in Korea. The runny yolk wraps around the spice, softening the heat and adding a rich, rounded depth of flavour.
Kimchi Buldak
김치 불닭볶음면
Slice well-ripened Kimchi and stir-fry it together with the noodles. The tangy acidity of the Kimchi mingles with the spicy cheese sauce to create a triple-layered flavour: spicy, sour and savoury all at once.
Mandu Buldak
만두 토핑 불닭
Serve alongside Korean pan-fried or steamed Mandu (dumplings). The soft dumpling skin and filling gently temper the heat, making this a satisfying and family-friendly meal.
Budae-Jjigae Style
부대찌개 스타일
Use the noodles as the base for a Budae-Jjigae (Korean army stew) by simmering them together with sausage, ham, tofu, bean sprouts and rice cakes. A warm, communal hot-pot dish perfect for sharing with friends on a cold day.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Samyang Cheese Buldak Stir-Fried Noodles? How is it different from regular instant noodles?

Samyang Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon is a Korean-style instant stir-fried noodle (bokkeummyeon) product. Unlike regular soup-based instant noodles (Ramyeon), the noodles are boiled and then almost all the water is drained before the included sauce is added and everything is tossed together in the pot or pan. The result is a nearly broth-free, dry-style noodle where the sauce coats the noodles intensely for a bold, concentrated flavour. This product belongs to the famous Korean "Buldak" (Bul = fire, Dak = chicken — meaning fire-hot chicken) series, known for its extreme spice level, with the addition of cheese flavour. It comes with a chilli-based spicy sauce and mozzarella cheese powder, creating a harmony of fiery heat and creamy cheese. The 5-pack multipack offers great value for regular enjoyment.

How spicy is this product? Can Europeans who are not used to spicy food eat it?

Samyang Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon is considered "very spicy" even by Korean standards. It contains a significant amount of red pepper powder, chilli powder and chilli extract, giving it a strong, intense heat. It is considerably hotter than typical European spicy foods (such as dishes with a dash of Tabasco sauce). That said, the mozzarella cheese powder partially tempers the heat, making it slightly milder than the original Buldak Bokkeummyeon. If you are not accustomed to spicy food, we recommend using only half the sauce packet when cooking, or adding cream cheese, egg or milk to reduce the spice level. If you are trying it for the first time, start with a small portion.

Is this product Halal certified?

Yes, Samyang Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon has been confirmed to hold Halal certification from the Korean Muslim Federation. However, Halal certifications have validity periods and renewal status may change, so we recommend verifying the current certification status directly with the manufacturer (Samyang Foods) or checking for the Halal mark on the product packaging before purchase. Please also note that this product contains soy sauce, which may contain sulphites above the EU threshold of 10mg/kg, so those with sulphite sensitivity should exercise caution.

Does this product contain allergens? Is it suitable for vegans or vegetarians?

This product contains the following 4 allergens from the 14 mandatorily declared under EU Regulation 1169/2011: Gluten (including wheat), Soya (soybeans), Milk (dairy), Sesame. Anyone with an allergy to any of these ingredients should avoid consumption. This product is not gluten-free and is therefore not suitable for people with coeliac disease. Regarding dietary suitability, this product contains artificial chicken flavour powder and other animal-derived ingredients, making it unsuitable for both vegans and vegetarians.

How should this product be stored, and what is the shelf life?

Samyang Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon is an ambient storage product. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Refrigeration is not required. Always check the best-before date printed on the product packaging. Once opened, cook and consume immediately. As this is a 5-pack multipack, any unopened packs can continue to be stored at room temperature. Cooking is straightforward: boil the noodles in water for 4–5 minutes, drain almost all the water (leaving approximately 8ml), then add the enclosed liquid sauce and cheese powder, mix well and serve.
