Authentic Korean Food · Authentic Korean Sesame Oil
Chamgireum is Korea's iconic finishing oil, cold-pressed from carefully roasted sesame seeds. For thousands of years, Korean households have added a drop or two at the final stage of almost every dish — Bibimbap, Namul, Japchae, Gimbap — to bring deep aroma and rich, nutty flavour together. Ottogi Savory Sesame Oil is triple-refined from well-roasted sesame seeds, capturing a golden colour and full-bodied flavour in every bottle.
Nutrition declaration per EU Regulation 1169/2011

Defined by a deep, rich nuttiness and full aroma drawn from well-roasted sesame seeds. The authentic Korean way is to drizzle it at the very end of cooking rather than using it for high-heat frying, so the fragrance stays vibrant.
In Korean households, sesame oil is the "final drop" in almost every dish. Discover the authentic Korean way to enjoy it.
Ottogi's golden sesame oil — loved on Korean tables for over 50 years. A single drop transforms an everyday dish into an authentic Korean flavour experience.
Ottogi Savory Sesame Oil is a pure sesame oil cold-pressed and extracted from 100% sesame seeds. It is characterised by a deep, rich nutty aroma from roasted sesame and a full, savoury flavour. Unlike common cooking oils used in Europe — such as sunflower or olive oil — sesame oil is primarily used as a "finishing oil" to complete the flavour of a dish. Even a small amount adds profound depth to the entire dish.
Yes. Ottogi Savory Sesame Oil is made exclusively from 100% sesame seeds and contains no ingredients of animal origin. It is suitable for both Vegans and Vegetarians.
The main ingredient of this product is sesame, which is one of the 14 major allergens listed under EU food labelling law (Regulation 1169/2011). Anyone with a sesame allergy should avoid this product. In addition, the Korean product label carries allergen warnings for soy and wheat (gluten), reflecting the possibility of cross-contamination in the manufacturing facility. Anyone with a soy or gluten allergy should exercise caution. This product is not certified gluten-free.
Sesame oil is used differently from olive oil in Korean cooking. Because it has a low smoke point, it is generally used as a finishing oil rather than for high-heat stir-frying. It is drizzled over Namul, Bibimbap, soups and stews, and Bulgogi marinades at the very end of cooking to bring out the aroma. In European culinary terms, this is similar to drizzling truffle oil or a high-quality extra virgin olive oil over a finished dish. The appeal of sesame oil lies in how even a small amount dramatically elevates the flavour of a dish.
After opening, store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keeping the cap tightly closed minimises air contact and slows oxidation. Refrigeration is possible, but the oil may turn cloudy or solidify at low temperatures. This is not a quality defect — it will return to its clear state at room temperature. It is recommended to use the oil within a few months of opening; a reduction in the nutty aroma indicates the oil is past its peak freshness.
