Mori-Nu Silken Extra Firm Tofu is a silken (soft) tofu made primarily from water, soya beans (15.1%), and isolated soya protein (4.2%). Unlike regular firm tofu, silken tofu is not pressed during the coagulation process, resulting in a much softer and more delicate texture. The "Extra Firm" variety holds its shape better than standard silken tofu, so it does not crumble too easily when scooped with a spoon or added to soups and stews. It has a refined, delicate texture similar to soft European cheeses such as ricotta or burrata, and is widely used in a variety of Japanese and Asian dishes.
Yes, Mori-Nu Silken Extra Firm Tofu is fully vegan and vegetarian. It contains no animal-derived ingredients whatsoever. The ingredient list consists solely of water, soya beans, isolated soya protein, acidity regulator (E575), and firming agent (E509). The product is also Halal certified and Gluten-Free. It is an excellent choice for those seeking a plant-based protein source.
