INAKA Kimbap Danmuji (Pickled Radish) 350g

Authentic Korean Kimbap Ingredient · Korean Kimbap Essential

Kimbap is a Korean seaweed rice roll, and Danmuji (pickled yellow radish) is one of its most essential fillings. This tangy, crunchy yellow pickled radish adds a bright, refreshing flavour and satisfying texture to every bite of Kimbap. Much like European pickles or sauerkraut, it brings a pleasant acidity to the meal — making it one of the most beloved pickled side dishes in Korean households.

Korean Ways to Enjoy · Recetas Coreanas

Authentic ways to enjoy INAKA Kimbap Danmuji as used in Korean households — add its tangy, crisp flavour to a variety of Korean dishes.

Kimbap
김밥
Kimbap is Korea's iconic lunchbox dish — rice and various fillings rolled in roasted seaweed. Danmuji is the single most essential filling: one yellow strip balances the freshness and texture of the entire roll. Slice it into long sticks and roll together with spinach, carrot, egg, ham, and burdock root.
Jumeok-bap
주먹밥
Jumeokbap is a Korean rice ball. Finely chop Danmuji and mix it into the rice for a tangy flavour and satisfying crunch. Add sesame oil and roasted seaweed flakes, then shape into balls — perfect as a lunchbox meal or snack.
Bibimbap
비빔밥
Bibimbap is a classic Korean mixed rice bowl topped with assorted vegetables, meat, and egg, served with Gochujang (red pepper paste). Finely diced Danmuji adds a bright sourness that cuts through the spicy Gochujang and brings balance to the bowl.
Banchan
반찬
Banchan are the small side dishes that accompany every Korean meal. Danmuji is one of the simplest and most popular banchan — just place a small dish of it alongside rice, soup, and the main course to cleanse the palate between bites. It plays a similar role to European pickles.
Jajangmyeon
짜장면 곁들임
In Korea, Jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) is always served with Danmuji on the side. The tangy crunch of Danmuji cuts through the rich, savoury black bean sauce, keeping each bite fresh and enjoyable all the way to the end of the bowl.
Dosirak
도시락
A Korean Dosirak (lunchbox) is made up of rice, a main side dish, and pickled accompaniments like Danmuji. Pack Bulgogi or Jeyuk Bokkeum as the main, with Danmuji in a separate compartment — it stays fresh until lunchtime and adds a bright, appetite-stimulating flavour.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Kimbap Danmuji? What does it taste like?

Danmuji is a Korean pickled radish made by quick-pickling daikon radish in acetic acid and citric acid. It has a distinctive yellow colour and is characterised by its sweet-tangy flavour and satisfying crunch. It is similar in category to European pickles or German sauerkraut in that it provides acidity, but unlike those products, Danmuji is made without any fermentation — it is produced by direct acidification (quick-pickling). It is primarily used as a filling inside Kimbap (Korean seaweed rice rolls), and is also enjoyed as a side dish (banchan) alongside Bibimbap and other Korean dishes. Its crisp texture adds a lively contrast to any meal.

Is this product suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

Yes, INAKA Kimbap Danmuji is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. All ingredients (radish, water, salt, and food additives) are free from animal-derived materials. This product is also gluten-free. Please note, however, that this product does not carry Halal certification and may not be suitable for those requiring Halal-certified products.

Does this product contain any allergens?

Does this product contain artificial sweeteners or additives?

Yes, this product contains several artificial sweeteners and food additives. Specifically, three high-intensity sweeteners are used: Aspartame (E951), Saccharin (E954), and Acesulfame K (E950). In accordance with EU regulations, the product is labelled "with sweetener(s)". The preservative Potassium sorbate (E202) and the colour Riboflavin/Vitamin B2 (E101) are also used. Acidity regulators Acetic acid (E260) and Citric acid (E330) give the product its characteristic tangy flavour. All additives are approved under EU food additive regulations (EU 1333/2008).

Where is this product made? How should it be stored?
