The texture is similar to Japanese mochi, though Korean Chapssaltteok differs slightly in the ratio of red bean filling and the degree of chewiness. For a Western comparison, think of it as a bite-sized sweet treat similar to a soft filled doughnut or a confection with marzipan — a traditional Korean dessert best enjoyed with tea.

Be careful not to overheat, as this can cause it to harden. It is best enjoyed immediately after thawing, and refreezing after thawing is not recommended. Traditionally, it is enjoyed alongside green tea or roasted barley tea.
