Authentic Korean Food · CJ Beksul
Korea's most beloved savory pancake mix (Buchimgae / Jeon), trusted in Korean households for generations. Pre-blended with wheat flour, garlic, onion, and black pepper, this mix requires only water to create a perfectly seasoned batter — ready for Pajeon (green onion pancake), Kimchi-jeon, Haemul Pajeon (seafood pancake), Hobak-jeon (zucchini pancake), and more. In Korea, these savory pancakes are a beloved everyday snack and a staple of festive and celebratory tables alike.
This product contains wheat (gluten) as its primary ingredient. Individuals with coeliac disease or gluten allergy should not consume this product. This product is manufactured in a facility that also handles other allergenic foods.
Garlic, onion, and black pepper are pre-blended into the mix, delivering deep, well-rounded flavour without any additional seasoning. The result is a Korean-style savory pancake with a signature crispy exterior and a pleasantly chewy interior.
A variety of authentic dishes made with Beksul Pancake Mix in Korean households. The basic ratio is 1 cup mix to 1 cup cold water. Pan-fry in a generous amount of oil until golden brown on both sides.
Made by Beksul, Korea's No.1 food brand — an authentic pancake mix that brings the everyday Korean kitchen straight to your table. dotAsia ships directly from Korea to Europe.
Beksul Pancake Mix is a specially blended flour mix designed for traditional Korean savory pancakes (Jeon / Buchimgae). Unlike plain flour, it already contains garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, so simply mixing it with water produces a deeply flavoured batter. It also includes a small amount of glutinous rice flour and xanthan gum, giving the finished pancake a chewier and crispier texture than plain flour alone. Think of it as a savory equivalent of a European crepe or pancake mix — but seasoned for bold, savoury Korean flavour rather than sweetness. It is suitable for a wide range of Korean pan-fried dishes including Pajeon, Kimchi-jeon, Haemul Pajeon, and Gamja-jeon.
The ingredients of Beksul Pancake Mix contain no animal-derived components and are composed entirely of plant-based ingredients. However, there is an important note: this product is manufactured in a facility that also handles eggs, milk, pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, crab, squid, and shellfish (oyster, abalone, mussel). Cross-contamination cannot therefore be excluded, and the product does not carry an official vegan or vegetarian certification. Those following a strict vegan or vegetarian diet should take this into account when deciding whether to consume this product.
Please review the allergen information carefully. [Allergens directly contained] Wheat (gluten) is the primary ingredient (approx. 95%). This product cannot be consumed by individuals with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease. [Allergens — May contain, due to cross-contamination] This product is manufactured in a facility that also handles eggs, milk, buckwheat, peanuts, soy, pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, crab, squid, shellfish (oyster, abalone, mussel), tomato, and sulphites. Anyone with an allergy to any of the above should exercise caution before consuming this product. Those with a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) should consult a medical professional before use. Gluten is a mandatory declared allergen under EU food labelling law (Regulation 1169/2011).
Beksul Pancake Mix is an extremely versatile product. Popular dishes include Pajeon (green onion pancake), Haemul Pajeon (seafood and green onion pancake with squid, shrimp, and clams), Kimchi-jeon (Kimchi pancake), Gamja-jeon (thinly sliced potato pancake), and Yachae-jeon (mixed vegetable pancake). The cooking method is straightforward: mix the pancake mix with cold water at roughly a 3:4 ratio to form a batter, add your chosen ingredients (vegetables, seafood, etc.), then pan-fry in a generous amount of oil until golden brown on both sides. Ingredients readily available in Europe — such as leeks, mushrooms, courgette, and frozen seafood mix — work beautifully. The traditional way to serve is with a dipping sauce of soy sauce and vinegar.
Before opening, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight at room temperature. After opening, transfer to a resealable container or zip-lock bag to prevent moisture ingress, and use as soon as possible. As with all flour-based products, exposure to moisture can cause clumping and reduce the leavening power of the baking powder. Refrigerating after opening is a good option. If refrigerated, allow the mix to come to room temperature briefly before use for easier mixing. Please refer to the best-before date printed on the packaging.
