HEARTY SPOON Truffle Mayo is a premium mayonnaise-style sauce made by a Korean brand. Using soybean oil (69%) as its base, it has a lighter texture than conventional mayonnaise, and is blended with truffle oil flavouring and a truffle extra virgin olive oil infused with truffle extract. The result is a deep, luxurious aroma reminiscent of the truffle aioli used in fine-dining restaurants. Soy sauce powder and yeast extract add a complex umami depth that goes far beyond a standard mayonnaise. It can be used as a dipping sauce, sandwich spread, or salad dressing.
This product is suitable for vegetarians. However, it contains egg yolk (Salted Egg Yolk and Egg Yolk), so it is not a vegan product. Those following an ovo-vegetarian diet that permits eggs may consume it. It is not suitable for those following a fully plant-based (vegan) diet.
This product contains three of the EU's 14 major allergens: ① Gluten — the seasoning blend contains malt extract (primarily barley-derived) and soy sauce powder (which may contain wheat), meaning this product contains gluten and is not gluten-free. People with coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity should avoid this product. ② Eggs — egg yolk is used as an ingredient. ③ Soybeans — soybean oil and soy sauce powder are present. The seasoning also contains flavour enhancer E621 (monosodium glutamate, MSG). Those with MSG sensitivity should take note. If you have any allergies, please check the full ingredient list carefully before purchasing.
Before opening, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight at room temperature. After opening, refrigerate (below 4°C) and use within the manufacturer's recommended period. As a general guideline, consume within 1–2 months of opening, and always use a clean utensil to prevent contamination. Please check the best-before date printed on the packaging. As this is a mayonnaise-style sauce rather than a fermented product, refrigeration after opening is especially important.
Truffle Mayo is an incredibly versatile sauce. Here are some great ways to use it in European cooking: ① Dipping sauce — pairs beautifully with French fries, oven-roasted potato wedges, artichokes, and grilled asparagus. ② Sandwich and burger spread — use it in place of regular mayonnaise for a richer, truffle-infused flavour. ③ Salad dressing — drizzle over an arugula, parmesan, and toasted walnut salad for an elegant finish. ④ Pasta sauce — toss a small amount through al dente pasta for a quick and creamy truffle pasta. ⑤ Korean-style uses — also works wonderfully with Gimbap, as a Bibimbap topping, or as a sauce for Korean fried chicken. The earthy, aromatic quality of truffle pairs especially well with aged European cheeses (such as Parmesan or Gruyère) and roasted mushrooms.
